Brass Foot Valve

Brass Foot Valve N10161006, also named brass bottom valve, is composed of valve body, valve cover, valve clack, sealing ring and gasket. It is a kind of check valve and is installed at the lower end of the pump suction pipe to prevent it from shutting down. The water in the suction pipe is emptied and plays a role in preventing the water from flowing back. The brass foot valve cover can filter big particles, and the brass foot valve disc is closed by its own weight and spring pressure.

Brass foot valve is a type of brass spring check valve, the valve body is similar to brass spring check valve, and assembled with brass cover. Brass foot valves  mainly have two functions: 1. prevent the back flow, 2. filter the big particles in water. Brass foot valves are generally used for outdoor water pumps.

The brass foot valve is designed with multiple water inlets on the valve cover, to reduce the inflow of debris and reduce the probability of clogging of the brass foot valve. Although the brass foot valve is equipped with an anti-clogging filter screen, it is generally suitable for cleaning media, rather than the media with excessive viscosity and particles.

depending on pipeline pressure needs, the brass foot valves are designed with valve wall thickness and port sizes, such as PN16 brass check valve, PN20 brass check valve, PN40 brass check valve.

Thread types differ from markets and applications: BSP threads for Europe and NPT threads for North America, also other metric threads, which you must confirm before buying brass foot valves.

Before starting the brass foot valve non-self-filling centrifugal pump, the pump must be filled with water before it can be started. The brass foot valve is mainly used for non-self-filling centrifugal pump pumping occasions. It is installed at the bottom of the suction pipe and is completely submerged in water. The brass foot valve has a non-return function. The water in the suction pipeline can only flow to the inlet of the pump and cannot return to the suction pool. *The pump needs to be filled with water when it is started, and there is no need to fill it in the future (in fact, due to the sealing and processing quality of the brass foot valve problem, a certain amount of water is required to start again).

Brass foot valves usually cannot withstand high pressure, but the backflow of water on the outlet side of the pump will generate a lot of pressure after the pump is stopped. In order to prevent the brass foot valve from being damaged, some brass foot valves are equipped with pressure relief pipes.
