What is threaded brass fittings
Threaded brass fittings are produced by extruded brass bars or forged brass, machined with CNC machinery, with different designs and sizes according to customer order and application requirements. Threaded brass fittings generally include brass nipples, brass nipple reducer, brass bushing, brass caps, etc..
Applications of threaded brass fittings
Threaded brass fittings are widely used to connect brass valves and pipelines, is necessary components to every fluid supply system, the applications are workable to water supply, gas supply, sanitary, heating system.
How to select threaded brass fittings
Threaded brass fittings are required according applications and pipe types, normally used in middle and low pressure system, working press less than PN16. Generally BSP threads for European market, NPT for North American market, it depends on the thread types of your pipe system. Rough brass color, nickel-plating, and chrome-plating are most widely used surface treatments for threaded brass fittings. Plating helps to protect the threaded brass fittings from oxygen and look shining.
How to install threaded brass fittings
1. Before installing threaded brass fittings, clean and remove any objects from the pipes (in particular bits of sealing and metal), which could obstruct and block the threaded brass fittings.
2. Ensure that both connecting pipes either side of the threaded (upstream and downstream) are aligned (if they are not the brass fittings may not work correctly).
3. Make sure that the two sections of the pipe (upstream and downstream) match, the brass fittings will not absorb any gaps. Any distortions in the pipes may affect the tightness of the connection, the working of the valve and can even cause a rupture.
Chemical compositions we use for threaded brass fittings
There are three frequently brass materials for European market, HPb57-3 threaded brass fittings, CW614N threaded brass fittings and CW617N threaded brass fittings.
CW617N brass has better physical property to stand higher working pressure and temperature, more importantly the Pb percentage share is less than 2.5% and applicable for drinking water systems, good for environment and people’s health.
CW614N Brass is also popularly used because of similar compositions and lower costs, suitable for those applications without much environmental requirements.
Surface treatments of threaded brass fittings
Surface treatments provide good protection to threaded brass fittings:
Rough color is threaded brass fittings body sandblasted and without plating.
Electroplating (nickel-plating and chrome-plating) can enhance the corrosion resistance of threaded brass fittings, increase hardness, prevent abrasion, improve conductivity, smoothness, heat resistance.
How we produce threaded brass fittings
Threaded brass fittings are easier than brass valves to produce, it will not require assemble:
1. Brass raw materials are bought from local suppliers in forms of brass bars.
2. Brass bars are cut into smaller pieces with different sizes according to order requirements
3. Some types threaded brass fittings are directly machined from brass bars; some of them needs hot forging to make rough bodies.
4. The rough threaded brass fittings bodies are trimmed and cut off unnecessary parts.
6. The rough threaded brass fittings are machined by CNC machinery for threads and dimensions.
7. The machined threaded brass fittings bodies are nickel- or chrome-plated.
8. The threaded brass fittings are ready for delivery after final finished goods quality inspection.
How we pack threaded brass fittings
Threaded brass fittings packing is very important for safe transport and brand appearance.
We pack threaded brass fittings in small inner boxes, then put into outer cartons, finally load in wooden pallets.
It will protect the goods well and can avoid damages and wet.
We also pack as per customers' OEM designs.
How we test threaded brass fittings
Our test laboratory equips with various devices for threaded brass fittings quality inspect and control, as well as new product development.
Equipment include material spectrometer analyzer, flow rate tester, torque tester, body resistance tester, endurance tester, high-low temperature tester.
These equipment enable us to analyze threaded brass fittings material compositions and type tests according to related standards, ensure our threaded brass fittings are correctly designed and produced.
